Sania Mirza to miss Australian Open 2018, to undergo knee surgery

Indian tennis ace is placed to miss next month's Australian Open owing to a leg injury, and could get a surgery to deal with the condition.


Sania is experiencing a condition called jumper's knee in her right leg. It's defined as a painful condition of the knee due to inflammation or small tears in the tendon of the patella.Sania won the 2016 Australian Open women's doubles title with Martina Hingis before announcing their split in August. The 31-year-old, who was simply here for the last of the Premjit Lall Invitational tournament, said she may need to get a surgery and is buying a Roger Federer-like comeback.
