England have to control Australia's run rate and chip away at their batting lineup: Shane Bond
England recently roped in former New Zealand pacer Shane Bond as their bowling coach for the upcoming Ashes series against Australia and the former Kiwi speedster has given his insights concerning how England can replicate their success of the 2010/11 visit.
Stating that discipline and control is the important thing for England Bond also went to express that England need to regulate Australia's run rate and chip away at their batting lineup. The ball doesn't move as much. The pitches are harder. You've setting your fields differently. Playing the boys about England, they know there's always something in the wicket. Here, you won't get that sideways movement or massive levels of swing. When it swings it won't be there all of the time. You've to locate various ways to skin a cat. Our bowlers are quality and they get bounce, that is massive. If we could obtain it to stop the straight just slightly, we're accurate enough that people could cause trouble, said Bond. You understand what you would get free from Australia,” Bond said before adding, “Starc will make an effort to swing it in and bowl over and across you, then go around the wicket and make an effort to knock your off pole out. [Josh] Hazlewood will soon be accurate, then Cummins will mix his length and bowl short. We're different. We've to regulate their run rate and chip away at their batting lineup, and bring it to day five.”
