Ashes 2017: Struggling Matt Renshaw gets selector's backing

Matt Renshaw has been out of form in the Sheffield Shield with only 53 runs in last two games. The opener, however, has the backing of Australia selector Mark Waugh ahead of the upcoming Ashes 2017 series against.

England which begins on November 23. Though Waugh didn't claim that Renshaw is in doubt for the very first Test, he must score runs.I'm not saying that, Waugh said when asked if Renshaw's spot is up for grabs. But I'm saying it could have been nice to see him score a couple of more runs in the growing season so far.His record for Australia is excellent, his average is all about 37 and he's batted in a few tough conditions in India and played well and played well last summer. Like everybody, he might have liked more runs up to now in the season… but we all know what he is able to do.You can't score runs every game, every year. You're likely to undergo these low periods, so Matt has just got to deal with that. I'm sure he's adequate to complete the job.”
