Sri Lanka beat Pakistan in Test series due to witchcraft, says captain Dinesh Chandimal

Sri Lanka's surprise two-match Test cricket win against Pakistan earlier in the month was down seriously to witchcraft, captain Dinesh Chandimal said, drawing mockery on social media. Chandimal told reporters he'd received a unique blessing from the meyni, or sorcerer, in front of the two-match series in the United Arab Emirates.

I'm always ready to simply accept the blessings of anyone – whether it's a meyni or any clergy,” Chandimal told reporters after time for Colombo. “You could have talent, but without this blessing you can't move forward.” His comments came per week after Sri Lanka's sports minister denied ordering the struggling national team to utilize witchcraft in front of the Test series.
